To act as CC/Superintendent of Prisons in the absence of the CC.
To advise and support the CC on all matters of practice, policy and procedure.
As the Force Performance Manager be responsible to the CC for all aspects of Force Performance.
Desirable to be a currently qualified Gold Commander for Firearms, Public Order and Major Incidents when required but essential to have previous command experience in these disciplines.
Responsible to the CC for all matters in relation to discipline and act as the Presiding Officer in all cases involving Constables and Sergeants.
Responsible to the CC for all matters in relation to complaints against Police.
To assist in the formulation of Force Strategy and in the identification of key objectives in the furtherance of that.

This is a Non Reserved post and is therefore open to UK, British Commonwealth and European Economic Area (EEA) Nationals and certain non EEA members.

Responsible to the CC for all recruiting and training requirements.
Chair the Human Resource Management Steering Group and oversee all aspects of Human Resource Management and training.
Post Holder is required to be flexible, innovative and able to work unsupervised.

Salary and Allowances
New entrants will normally attract the minimum of the pay scale, currently £45,190 however Higher Starting Pay (HSP) has been approved to a maximum of £47,942. Any offer of HSP will depend on your level of experience and qualifications.

The post attracts Cost Of Living Allowance; local utilities and on call allowance

Interview/Assessment Centre
Interviews for this job will take place early April on a date to be confirmed at Northwood Headquarters, Middlesex.
The successful applicant will be ring-fenced in this post until they have successfully completed the Band B Management Competency Assessment. Failure to successfully complete this assessment will exclude you from transfer or advancement within the civil service and therefore restrict you to this post, employment and grade.
